CAGEd
- Do you ever feel the need to cut down on traveling?
* - Have people annoyed you by criticizing the amount of traveling you’re doing?
* - Have you ever felt guilty about traveling (or thinking about traveling) so much?
* - Have you ever woken up and needed to think/plan/dream about traveling just to get through the day (an eye-opener, so to speak)?
If you answered yes to any 2 of the 4 questions above: yep, you’ve got it bad.
If your results from the CAGE Questionnaire for Travel Addiction are equivocal, you will need further workup. Try the Promo Fare Response criteria. If you see a seat sale, do you:
- Break into a cold sweat?
- Experience palpitations?
- Go: “Okay, okay, okay, wait, wait, wait, where should I go, where should I go, where should I go, let me see, let me see, let me see…”?
- Stop everything you’re doing so you can start exploring travel destinations / travel dates?
- Defer sleep to patiently wait for the traffic-overburdened airline website to process your request?
- Scream “Nooooooooo” when the website says someone beat you to the punch on that “1 seat left” flight?
- Book a flight without knowing whether you can afford another vacation?
At least 3 out of 7? Yeah, it’s confirmed: you’ve got it bad.
And in other news:
Look, I got Cebu-Tokyo-Cebu tickets for PHP 1,212.92 (USD 28)!! Yay!!!

(Oh, I am so in trouble.)

No way!!! You are one lucky girl! And by the way, why are you so in trouble?
Because I don’t have money for Tokyo. 😀 I’ll have to rob a bank between now and November. 😀 Did you visit Tokyo when you were in Japan? Where did you stay?
You may be so in trouble but I am so excited for you! Yippee! Japan! How fabulous. Somehow whatever money you need will come together. The Universe has a funny way of knowing these things 🙂
Alison
Oh *hug* you always know what to say! Thank you!
the struggle is so real, I answered yes to every one
Haha! Oh man we’re in trouble. But as addictions go, this one’s relatively harmless — it’ll probably be good for us in the long run. 🙂
but this is great news 🙂 you are a good planner, I know you will figure it out and will have fabulous time 🙂
Thanks! Yeah, I’ll make it work even if I have to sleep on the streets (but hopefully not). 🙂
Oh i hate that news! Just kidding! 🙂 I booked mla-taipei-mla yesterday at cebu pac for 6k 🙁 Im excited for your japan trip dear. You can check my blog posts of my solo travel in Japan. Though i haven’t completed my Tokyo and Yokohama travel diaries 🙂
Cheer up, 6k isn’t too bad! 🙂 Yay, I definitely will check out your blog posts, thanks for reminding me!
Japan is not as expensive as many people think, especially with cheap flights. Yep, we went to Tokyo, kyoto, osaka, hiroshima. In tokyo we stayed at Sakura Hostel. You should also try Toyoko Inn, its a chain of hostel around Japan. We’ve stayed inToyoko Inn Osaka before How many days will you be in Japan?
Only 4 days so I really have to make the most of it. Hey!!!! Can you write a guest post on your Japan travels? 🙂 Or even just a list of tips? But only if you have time or if you want to. 🙂
Wow wow wow!!!! That is cheap! I have to warn you Tokyo is really expensive (I’m sure you already know) but you can find things that are very reasonable and some even free such as parks and some temples. Good luck and have fun!!
Thank you! 🙂 I am planning to sleep in the streets lol. No, I’ll probably stick mostly to hostels and the free stuff. I’m really just looking forward to viewing the autumn foliage. I’ll have to do a lot of research!
Yes the Japanese maple trees are beautiful. Plus it’s hard to find bad food in Japan. Kahit sa station ka kakain where you’ll find cheap ramen, masarap pa rin. Try the revolving sushi (kaiten) too. I can’t wait to read your blog on it.
Yay, and thanks for the tips! 🙂 🙂
Haha, im not really a writer, but I will just pm you some of the places I had visited in Tokyo and some nice places for daytrips from Tokyo. I will be going back to Japan on June, Im doing a bit of research again. i thought I got cheap flights already at 6500pesos which I purchased last year, but you beat me into that.
Yay, thank you!! 🙂 It’s the fuel surcharge that really made the difference! We should book trips now while gas prices are low. 🙂
No, i cant. Im fully booked for the year because of promo tickets. Like you i need to rob a bank or else ill end up sleeping in the streets.
Awesome blog! Can’t stop reading yours.
Salamat! 🙂 Loved your BK adventure, it sounded fun!
Wow! That is so cheap! I tried to get on the Cebu Pacific website the other day but it had crashed! I will see if there is anything left 🙂
It tends to do that during big sales! I actually slept at around 3 AM that time because it took forever for each page to load. I was even going to book a trip to HK, just under 5k for 4 persons, but the website was so slow, someone beat me to making the payment. I hope you’ll find something you like, if not on this sale, then hopefully on the next sale. It’s a good time to book flights because gas prices are low and there’s no fuel surcharge anymore.
