PLAGIARISM ABOUNDS!
Oh, nothing really. ๐ It’s just that I got this comment in one of my posts:
And it’s funny because the other blog (where the contents of that post were originally published) belongs to…me. I’ve been basically accused of plagiarizing myself.
And while a reader’sย outrage at a perceived crime is admirable, in this case:
- The post in THIS blog did contain a note saying it had previously been published in another blog and that it was being reposted with permission. True, the note was in the last paragraph, but a certain level of meticulousness might be expected before inflammatory comments are made, yes?
* - Thisย accusatory, all-caps comment was left on this blog, but there was no comment on my other blog telling me that my work might have been plagiarized — probably the better option if the intention was to correct an injustice.
Ah, well. Who among us hasn’t jumped to conclusions at some point in our lives? And the internet is such an enabler of trigger-happiness.
At any rate, I thought “PLAGIARISM ABOUNDS!” would make a better headline than comment, hence this post. ๐ Happy weekend everyone!

trigger happiness haha!
Sounds like a great title for a novel. ๐
Hahaha! I can see the book cover now…
Yes!! I would have the title really big on the top of the book and then the back of someone looking up at it while scribbling in their own book. ๐
I’m throwing shade at that comment–the look on my face. So silly!
Shoulda seen the look on my face. ๐ I mean I can understand somebody making the wrong assumption, but to make the accusation — and in that way — without making sure she was right, it IS silly.
It is a rather aggressive accusation and since they didn’t contact the original writer, you haha, it’s just plain weird. Weirdo!!
Plus “PLAGIARISM ABOUNDS!” is hilariously dramatic!! I’m having a full-on delayed reaction and actually laughing out loud at it as I clean.
Right?? ๐ Ssshhh, I looked her up in Facebook and many of her posts are the preachy, some-words-in-all-caps kind, so I’m just not going to take it personally. ๐ It just sounds like something you’d see in a newspaper, like, idk, WE WON THE WAR! Or SHERLOCK LIVES! ๐ Like, dude, relax.
lmao! WE WON THE WAR & SHERLOCK LIVES! She’s too excited, like she’s stranded at sea and a plane finally flew overhead. Take it down a notch!
Sounds like a great title for a book or blog actually.
Yeah! ๐ Or…a play. A musical! “PLAGIARISM ABOUNDS!”
That’s even better.
lol … and I don’t know what else to say… I bet it’s hard to plagiarize yourself, cause you’ve set a high standard ๐
I’m a plagiarist with high standards. ๐ ๐ ๐
