SGMT Japan Kyoto Fushimi Inari 01To get a Japanese visa, you need to submit (among other requirements) a daily schedule for your entire stay in Japan. The website of the Japanese embassy has a sample daily schedule — or Schedule of Stay, as they call it — but if you want to see something a visa applicant actually submitted, here’s a look at mine:

SGMT Japan Visa_Schedule of Stay_Sample

It was November and I was mostly there to check out the fall foliage (because, as you may or may not know, it’s always summer in the Philippines). Usually, on trips, I make an itinerary and then, when I’m actually there, deviate freely from it. My Japan trip was no exception — I didn’t get to visit half of the places I listed here, but I accidentally got to Nara, which was nice. (Tell you about that later.)

Anyway, this was the Daily Schedule / Schedule of Stay that I submitted as part of my visa application for Japan, and I hope it helps other visa applicants out there.

Read my other article How to Get a Japanese Visa in Cebu for a quick and easy guide on, well, getting a Japanese visa. Some of the information in the article — like the contact details for accredited agencies — are geared towards visa applications filed in Cebu, but everything else, the procedure, the requirements, are the same for anyone anywhere in the Philippines.

Good luck and enjoy your Japan trip!

    1. Hi Hashim! Sorry for the super-late reply — was on a trip recently then had to catch up on work and have just gotten around to replying to comments. I’m sure you’ve probably found out the answer by now, but yes, there’s a sample available at the Japanese embassy website. I made mine in Microsoft Word and patterned it after the sample format.

      1. Hey I also made mine in Microsoft Word copying you and I got the visa. Going this Sunday, thanks alot. Also unfortunately nothing was available on Japanese Embassy website here in Pakistan, but thankfully visa got accepted.

  1. Hi! Thank you for sharing your sample!
I am renewing my Japan Visa because it expired last month. I am planning to travel this December with my brother (it will be his first time traveling there)

I wanted to ask a few things:

    1. regarding the itinerary, is it safe to put an airbnb accommodation which you haven’t booked yet?
I am planning to book an air bnb place but only after I am approved of my visa application

    2. Is it ok to print out my itinerary or do I have to fill it up handwritten?

    1. Hi Ann!

      1. I would suggest just looking for an Airbnb property that you can book and cancel without charges OR a hotel with free cancellation (in Booking.com, for instance).
      2. Yes, I printed out my itinerary and it was fine.

      Good luck!

      1. Hi, would like to know how to book at airnb without cancellation charges. When booking is confirmed they need my credit card but has an option of refunds once u cancel. How do they send refunds? Thanks

      2. Hi Marlie. I don’t think I’ve cancelled an Airbnb booking before, so I can’t answer from personal experience, but it would stand to reason they would your payment back the way they got it, which is through your credit card. I think you can find specific info (including how long you’ll have to wait for the refund to come in) at the Airbnb website.

      3. Oops, I forgot to mention that each Airbnb property has different cancellation policies. Check the page of the one you’re interested in to see if it is strict, moderate or flexible in terms of cancellation — and there will often be a definition of that policy right next to it.

    2. hi guys, according to the Japanese Consulate website here in Los Angeles. I need to make a “Daily Itinerary” and Tour Itinerary or Itinerary”, I already made my daily itineraries. I’m just not sure what they meant by Itinerary? thanks

  2. Hi! I’ll be going to Japan this coming November 24 to 29. Just want to ask, what’s the weather in Japan during these dates and what should I wear? Thanks!

    1. Hi Miriam! Very sorry for the delayed response. I don’t remember the exact weather when I was there — and anyway, it will vary with which particular place you’re visiting, so just Google, for example, “Kyoto weather late November” — but in my pictures sometimes I had on a puffer jacket, sometimes a sweater, and sometimes just a T-shirt. 😀 You’ll be there a bit later in November than I was, so I would recommend bringing at least one thermal undershirt (like the Uniqlo Heattechs), shirts/blouses, a cardigan/sweater that you can wear over your shirt/blouse, and a jacket, plus a scarf. Just put on or take off the layers as necessary. Good luck and have a great trip, and sorry again for taking so long to reply.
