You can never really go back

*
Tambobo Bay_02I only went back to Dumaguete once after internship ended. I called it home for one whole year — the only place outside of Cebu that I had lived in for an extended period of time — and at first I was excited to go back. Our old haunts were still there: the Boulevard, Noriter, Lee Plaza, Sans Rival, Cafe Antonio, even good old Tops & Bottoms. But it was different. It was the people that made the place, and my friends had all gone away, to find their own places in the sun. I think it was then I realized that you can never really go back, except in memory.

But, man, such memories!
